A project is being conducted to accommodate female flier by creating a new, Extra Small Narrow (XSN) size for the MBU-20/P mask. In this paper, an historical perspective on mask development is presented, followed by an explanation of the creation of a new sizing tariff for an extra small narrow mask. The creation of three prototype masks, in addition to a Gentex effort creating a new XSN mask, are also discussed. Finally, plans for a fit test, which will identify the best approach for creating the XSN, are presented.
