A diesel particulate filter (DPF) made porous metal because of its high thermal conductivity, and a radiation heater for a regeneration device, because of its uniform distribution of temperature, has been developed. With the porous metal filter and radiation heater, good regeneration efficiency can be achieved in experiment regardless of the amount of accumulated particular matter.
