This study demonstrates the possibility of developing coating resins containing a new, experimental polyolefin diol, a reinforcing diol and a crosslinker. As these three components exhibit incompatibilities, they should be cooked in a resin kettle to accomplish at least a small amount of reaction. By varying the relative proportions of the three components in the cook, resins can be prepared which yield coatings covering a wide range of hardness and flexibility.
