Today there exists an evident need to view an enterprise as a learning system whose adaptive capabilities have to be increased for the joint and participative development of organization and technology. As an example of implementing the concept of a Learning Organization into practice experience at John Deere Works Mannheim is described. The company has started to implement a project that intends to integrate lasting concepts of a Learning Organization. It very much corresponds to a bottom-up approach. Strategy and first results of the project are described.
