Applications for recycled thermoset composites have been demonstrated in this study. The application is a syntactic sprayable core material for boats. The approach is that cured production scrap, such as trim and scrap parts can be ground on site and recycled. The material-mix here called the scrap-mix, contains 33-40 % recycled composites and is used as sparyed core material. This paper focus on the mechanical properties of sandwich laminates when using scrap-mix cores. Flexural strength and screw-holding strength are superior to the laminates made with plywood cores. It has also shown better properties than coremat. Scrap-mix has also shown useful for replacing the middle part of conventional single-skin laminates and still maintaining the flexural strength and fatigue properties.
