This paper presents three procedures for measuring and calculating the circularity of a submarine pressure hull. The Bridge Gauge Transverse Method is studied, detailed and improved. Improvements in the gauge itself are proposed and a new out-of-roundness mathematical calculation routine is developed. A Qualification Procedure to determine the calculating method effective accuracy is presented. The quality, utility and use of the proposed improved process during the submarine pressure hull fabrication steps is discussed, in comparison with the Jig Method.
