The paper presents the effect of advanced net shape spinforming methods for large cryogenic propellant tank bulkheads in terms of cost and mass reduction compared to conventional bulkhead production methods. Two presently performed development studies are discussed which demonstrate the feasibility to spinform large bulkheads from Aluminium AA2219 as well as from the high strength Aluminium-Lithium alloy AA2195. The main development objectives and the actually obtained results are presented. Possibilities for further cost reductions are explained.
