Wheel-motor are widely used in electrical vehicle, because it is a simple structure. In order to prevent mass (including dust, drip, mud and so on) entering from outside into electrical motor, the enclosed structure is often used. Which leads to difficulty in cooling. The merits and demerits on different cooling methods in electrical wheel-motor is discussed in this article. It can be considered that the cooling method with heat pipe has a simple structure, remarkable effect on transferring heat and no loss of energy in the process of heat transmitting. This article shows the experiment curves of the wheel-motor modle with heat pipes for heat transferring. The experimental results shows that the structure with heat pipes has a good effect on transmitting heat in wheel-motor. It can be widely applied in electrical vehicle.
