The critical speed of driveshaft, which is somewhat below the theoretically calculated value, is an important parameter in the vehicle powerplant design. With the application of high speed engine, it is very necessary to determine the critical speed precisely. This paper introduces the measurement of bending vibration mode in powerplant system and fault analysis of transmission fracture by the aid of experiment modal analysis techniques. And the critical speed is also measured by a test on an electric-driven rotating drum.
