The active mount system studied in this paper is designed to prevent engine vibration from creating excessive vibration velocity in the structure to which the engine is mounted. The mount will be actively driven by a controller. A key element in this active mount system is a voltage-driven actuator built from a stack of layers of piezoceramic material. This actuator counteracts the engine vibration by generating a velocity opposite to the velocity created by the engine at the interface between the engine and the structure. This paper is focused on how the actuator parameters affect conversion of input voltage into velocity at the interface.
