New techniques support the comparison of measured data taken on airfoils and associated structures to a solid model of the part being inspected. Least Squares Best Fit with six degrees of freedom analyzes the manufacturing process, to determine if good parts are in castings/forgings and how to fixture them on the machining center, mating part analysis, GD & T analysis, and functional gaging simulation. User experience is described.
