This paper deals with the application conditions of formerly proposed forming process to gear-toothed parts with various heights of boss. For the case of a low boss, two step forming method which combines a conventional closed die forging as a first step with this process is useful to reduce working load. Direct applicability of this process to the actual shape of the product for motor car which has a tapered boss and a step at the bottom face is confirmed. The working pressure is almost the same with that of simple shape which has no taper and no step, and is about three times of the yield stress of work materials.
