A mobile robot with a dual body morphology utilizes two body structures, each equipped with three sets of vacuum cups, to walk on the fuselage of aircraft. The dual structure is equipped with a working arm and tool holder. An electric actuator is incorporated into the tool holder, enabling the robot to perform a variety of functions including brushing, prepping and spray painting. Other tasks such as video and x-ray inspection, as well as deriveting, are possible.
