A personal computer based data acquisition and control system for direct-connect solid fuel ramjet testing is presented. This system incorporates a personal computer equipped with an analog to digital convertor and digital output relay boards used in conjunction with a specifically developed software package. This software package incorporates a procedural language which can be used to completely specify a direct-connect test sequence. Under control of the software package, test control and sequencing, data acquisition and storage, real-time remote data display, closed-loop air heater control, and system safety-loop air heater control, and system safety checks are performed. Additional software modules provide for transducer calibration and manual hardware operation. A description of the direct-connect test stand for which the system was developed is presented. A complete description of the software package is presented. A description of the computer hardware utilized is presented. The details of the implementation of the data acquisition and control system for that test stand are presented.
