A threat source such as radar, is one of the most important factors which must be considered in route planning. Some threat sources generate so large a threat area that the whole planning field is covered by it. In these areas, some threat areas can be observed by the threat source, called the visible area while others cannot be observed due to the overlapping of terrain, called invisible area. In order to lessen the route planning cost, the invisible area should be utilized as much as possible. In this paper a fast route planning approach which uses an invisible area and high maneuverability of aircraft is presented. After a comparison of theoretical analysis with experimental results, it is concluded that our approach needs much less planning time than the traditional algorithm.
