A new design of cadmium negative electrodes linked with sintering technology has enabled SAFT to develop a new range of accumulators whose performance is well-adapted to electric vehicles. Mass energy used on electric vehicles is higher than 50 Wh/kg. The characteristics of specific power, energy output and lifelength are greater than those of other alkaline or acid electrochemical generators used for this kind of application.
