A differential model for the moving boundary problem that can be used to study the performance of phase change materials of various compositions used in spacecraft solar heat engine power systems, during the heat absorption and heat rejection period, is discussed. The governing equations and necessary initial and boundary conditions are transformed into a set of integral equations. Numerical solutions to these equations are obtained using an iterative scheme. Results are presented in terms of solid and liquid phase temperature distributions and interface position as a function of time for different Stefan numbers.
