Antijam modems designed to overcome severe electronic countermeasures are being integrated with the US Army's new ground mobile satelllite communications network. These super high frequency satellite terminal modems, according to Army officials, allow multichannel critical communications over extended distances and varied terrain. Using direct sequence spread spectrum technology, the antijam modems' counter-countermeasures capability protects the satellite terminals' critical communications capability.
