Successful and productive operation of the US Air Force personnel system has been made possible by computer and communications systems and by the people who have made up the Personnel Data System over the past 25 years. During this period, PDS has evolved into an integrated, worldwide service. This evolution reflects the effective and timely satisfaction of a new mission requirements of a constantly changing Air Force, as well as the achievement of increased productivity, by taking advantage of the many advances in communications-computer systems technology.
