To avoid the amount of mechanical gears and mechanisms that are necessary to realise drives with several shafts more and more are used multy-motor drives. The motions of the motors are coordinated by a digital controller. Since very often occur besides revolving motions linear motions the application of linear motors is of increasing interest. The electronically controlled multimotor-drive system works like a mechanical gear. Therefore it is called 'Electronic Gear'.Multimotor drives with electronic gears are replacing classic drive systems with mechanical gear-boxes. The new solution has advantages for technological flexibility, quality, noise-rate and wearing effects and weight of the used materials. A linear motor gives the chance to simplify the mechanical design on the one hand and improves the dynamic performance on the other hand. It becomes of increasing interest to use these motors. The author describes the proposed new system.
