In this paper motion control application of digital signal processing: a real time algorithm of ocean wave generation is described. In the field of the coastal engineering as well as ocean engineering, the model test in the test basin is dispensable to overcome the design limitations. Because the computer simulation has the limits due to the uncertainty of the nonlinear phenomenon between a vessel or a floating structure and ocean waves. The developed serpent type wave marker can generate various kinds of ocean waves in the test basin. To synthesize ocean waves requires the complicated and time consuming calculation in the computer unit of the wave marker because ocean waves consists of many frequency and directional component waves. The author has developed the real time algorithm of synthesizing various kinds of waves in the serpent type wave marker. This algorithm is executed in the digital signal processors of the developed control unit in the wave marker.
