To satisfy increasing demands on active safety, commercial vehicle manufacturers have enormously intensified their efforts in developing intelligent systems for the dynamic and, notably, for the braking performance of commercial verhicles. This has given rise in the past few years to new, electronic vehicle management systems which will significantly enhance the active safety of commercial vehicles in daily on-the-road service. The subject 'electronic Vehicle Management Systems' has not been much discussed in public to date as the related possibilities which it offers for increasing the active safety of commercial vehicles are still relatively unknown. In further enhancement of the active safety will in future necessisate ever greater use of electronic intelligence.
