This paper evaluates the experimental performance of satellite profile measurements using digital correlation techniques in optical spread spectrum systems. The digital correlation achieved a 3 cm spatial resolution. To the authors best knowledge this is the best resolution reported to date with a non-coherent system. The advantages of the approach are also discussed with reference to synchronisation performance.
