Industrial battery market segments are generally fall into two major categories - traction batteries, also called motive power batteries, and stationary batteries, also referred to as standby power batteries. Industrial battery market segments: Traction batteries (motive power) Industrial trucks: forklifts, automated guided vehicles (AGVs), airline tarmac, other towers/carriers, floor cleaning equipment, and mobile robots: Rail and mine vehicles, personnel carriers, golf carts, wheelchairs, other marine transportation and fiching vessels. Stationary batteries (standby power): Telecommunications equipment: central office switches, SLCs, repeater stations, cellular telephones, dispatcher/paging radios, customer-premises equipment. Uninterruptible power suppliers (UPS): computers, information systems, airports, hospitals. Controll/switchgear: emergency power for control of utilities and process plants. Other: exit lighting, emergency lighting, security and alarm systems, photovoltaic (PV) energy storage.
