The concept of a novel Near-Range Primary Radar Network (NRN) for the non-cooperative guidance of the airport surface traffic is presented. The requirements to and the features of the main components are described. In order to demonstrate the performance of the method, and its flexibility in view of the compatibility to different airport scenarios, simulation results are presented.
