As can be seen, the connector needs of the automotive industry are quite different today than even a few years ago. Such changes are attributed to the changes in automotive electronics. No longer is an electrical connection merely a point-to-point path of wire, instead it is a data path that must be closely controlled. Fortunately, a great deal of electronics advancements have already been pioneered by the computer and telecommunications industry. By successfully transferring knowledge obtained from these industries, the connector industry will be able to respond to the future needs of the automotive industry with innovative products.
