Spacecraft integration is a key issue in the use of SP-100 as the primary electrical power source for space based radar. General Dynamics' Hybrid Bistatic Radar (HBR) concept has been examined as a candidate for increasing power levels to between 100 and 300 kWe through the use of SP-100. The source for the work described is largely derived from a contracted effort for Los Alamos National Laboratory (contract 9-XFE-V2024-1), studying the use of SP-100 as the primary power source for the HBR radar transmitter spececraft. Through the use of the SP-100 nuclear reactor system at 300 kWe, it may be possible to achieve sizable performance increases - up to 10 times that of a reference 30 kWe solar concentrator powered option, while increasing the cost of an individual spacecraft by only three times. Integration of the nuclear power system appears to pose no signficant problems; several of the topics explored during the contracted study are presented in this paper.
