The Jaguar C-X75 was first shown at the 2010 Paris Motor show as a technology concept for an innovative and high performance future for Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV). Following this announcement Jaguar decided to develop a limited prototype run of vehicles as demonstrators of Jaguar innovation. This paper will discuss how the concept and design of the vehicle was used to define and influence a range of signature sounds designed to inform and enhance the user experience. By approaching the sound design as part of the overall user experience, from first unlocking the car to vehicle shutdown, the aim of the work was to inform the owner in an intuitive way.
