The objective of this work has been the design of a front brake handle for large displacement motorcycles. A design methodology that examines the most important facets associated to the development process and final use of this mechanism has been applied. Particularly, three aspects have been studied: operation, user adaptation and manufacturing process. By means of the integrated analysis of technical specifications, brake requirements, ergonomics and technical and economic manufacturing viability, it is possible to reduce defects, to anticipate problems and to obtain a higher quality from the initial mechanism design.
