Thermal analysis is an important step in designing electronic motors and battery systems. The central question of this project concerns the coupling of the CFD software with the corresponding design program for the electric motors and batteries. The aim is to find out which files are necessary for the coupling and whether it can be useful to change them. A second aspect is to verify the meshing of the electric motor geometry which is needed for the numerical simulation. This grid study helps to determine a sufficiently fine grid and a maximum coarse grid is needed for the system. The simultaneous examination of the required computing power during the described analysis gives an indication for the necessary computing power to implement the simulation of electric motors and battery systems at an institute or a company. Along with two other computer systems, a high-performance cluster was examined in the analysis.
