In the paper, the main results of the most important studies on whole-body vibration exposure developed in Spain are shown. These are the results of measurements in off road vehicles used in the mining industry (surface mining and quarries), although the general conclusions are also valid for other kind of industries using off road machinery. This is the first time that these results are presented internationally. The first studies, made during the years 2002-2003, where carried out by the Technical Department of the National Silicosis Institute (NSI), obtaining 255 measurements from 12 different machines. The NSI also collaborated with other studies, developed later: ANEFA (2007) with 125 measurements in 9 machines, Mining Authority from Catalonia, with 125 measurements in 9 machines, and, the most important, the data base from AITEMIN. AITEMIN made aprox 600 measurements in 154 machines (some of them under the European Project MINTOS - Improving Mining Transport Reliability, and others financed by the Spanish Mining Authority). In the document, the global results are presented, and some interesting conclusions for users, regulations and standarization will be discussed.
