A data recording and analyzing system for urban rail vehicle is proposed and developed in this paper. This system can record the vehicle running information with the help of the installed data recording equipments, and offline analyze the recorded vehicle running data and the fault data. By using the proposed recording and analyzing system, the vehicle maintainers can quickly investigate the vehicle running status, so as to diagnose the fault working condition and make the reasonable measures; The vehicle debugging person can easily find out the debug problems and the direction of improvement; The vehicle administrator can effectively obtain the vehicle’s overall operating status so as to make the appropriate management strategies. The developed system has already been used in some urban rail lines successfully, and has achieved good results.
