As the quality of modern life improves, the comfort of environment inside vehicles is receiving more and more attention. The various heat problems concerning cars exposed under the scorching sun have presented engineers with a challenge in recent years. Studies have proposed a solar-driven auto ventilation cooling system which makes use of solar panels to convert solar energy into electric energy to drive the interior ventilator, thereby drawing the outside cooler air into the car, forming circulation and convection of inside and outside air, and subsequently cooling the interior temperature. This study is specifically dedicated to improving the start-up time of the ventilator. With the improvements, the system will start only at a set time or set temperature instead of starting up immediately after the owner leaves the car, and it will store extra solar energy in an on-vehicle battery for future use while achieving a cooling effect at the same time. This study employs STAR-CD data analysis software to simulate the changes of interior temperature field and speed field; according to the results, the system will not only save much energy, but also effectively cool the interior environment of the vehicle down to a more comfortable temperature.
