The application of textile raw materials, especially fibers, is rising continuously in the field of transportation, whereby metal and plastic components are steadily being displaced. This lecture describes the special characteristics of selected assemblies made of textile products to fulfill the outstanding requirement profiles. Furthermore, the necessary modifications over the past few years and the future demands of the market are pointed out. In future applications, textile products will benefit due to the reduction of the assembly weight and optimizing according to the material and the stress it has to withstand. This can be achieved by the wide range of possibilities to modify special properties and constructive options like the orientation and arrangement of the fibers, filaments and yarns. Summing up, descriptions of current development projects demonstrate on the one hand the challenges for textile components in the future, and on the other that the substitution of established raw materials by fibers will go on continuously.
