A new design of brake gear drive with varying gear ratio ensuring decrease of the force applied at brake pedal is described. Dependences between the force at brake pedal and motor car deceleration, as well as results of road tests at different velocities of motion using measuring equipment are considered. It is shown that with increasing deceleration the force at brake pedal grows two times at constant gear ratio compared with varying gear ratio of the brake pedal. The test results of a improved working brake gear for the vehicle UAZ-3741 with a 'cold brake mechanism' are shown.
