The article presents the analysis of combined actuator interventions as well as a control concept for improved vehicle dynamics. An active limited slip differential at the rear drive wheels, an active front steering system and active brakes are analysed to determine their potential in terms of additional yaw torque. The presented control concept provides a centralised global yaw torque controller followed by an allocation algorithm based on a pseudoinverse solution. A method for estimating required actuator interventions is presented. The control concept is analysed by simulating NHTSA's sine with dwell manoeuvre at different velocities. The simulation results illustrate vehicle stability improvement by controlling the considered systems. Combining all of them provides the strongest potential for enhancing the stability and agility.
