For satellite radio systems with geostationary satellites a new satellite antenna is presented. The antenna enables simultaneous radio reception of left hand and right hand circular polarized fields in an elevation range from 25 deg of angle to 60 deg of angle above horizon. With dimensions of only 45mm x 45mm x 22mm the antenna covers the DAB-S-band with a center frequency of 1486 MHz. The structure is described and the antenna characteristics are shown which have been investigated by way of simulation and measurement. The antenna has been evaluated successfully in field tests for real mobile reception scenario.
