This article describes the mechanisms of electromagnetic disturbances in power electronics devices. These ones are more and more present in aircraft because they simplify maintenance, allow to reduce costs and to increase payload. By using of simple models, it is shown that these devices are inherently sources of high disturbances in a wide frequency range. Some points related to the technology of semiconductors that contribute to these phenomena will be indicated. All elements of a system or of a subsystem that contribute to the generation or transmission of EM disturbances (generators, converters, cables, actuators) will be highlighted. Thus, this article aims to sensitize the designer of systems or subsystems to include the EMC constraints at the early phase of the design of a new project.
