The fast growing complexity and change of electronic components in tractors and implements requires a flexible diagnostic system to reduce downtime of machines. To manage the conflict between shorter development cycles and more and more complex systems, there is the need of change in classic diagnostic tool development. There is the need of standardisation of diagnostic information to get fast and easy access to information needed. As a result of this the automotive industry has created the ODX database standard (ASAM MCD-2D) [1] for standardised description of diagnostic information. This ODX database enables the reuse of diagnostic access information for the complete product lifecycle (development, testing and after-sales service).
