Forage harvesting by using a forage harvester is a very arduous task for drivers because several tasks run simultaneously, and each of them may demand total concentration. The Control of the header and the steering of the machine is directed to the front, while the control of crop overloading onto a moving trailer is directed to the side or even to the rear of the vehicle. In order to dissolve this conflict, the different tasks are to be automated. This reduces the control effort to an economically acceptable level. A first and simple improvement was to introduce a camera system (ProfiCam) with which the crop overloading is displayed in the driver's field of view. For the trailer drivers it is desirable to get imagery information with a to look into their own trailer from a high position during overloading. This has been solved with radio transmission from the spout to the tractor (TeleCam). A firt solution for automatic control of the overloading stream was realised in the Claas articulated forage harvester vehicles well known as the Field shuttle with attached bunker systems. The objective of the Claas Spout Control is to ease the process of loading a trailer by automating the spout position control. This reduces the amount of attention and concentration required from the driver, letting him time to focus on the harvesting process.
