Collaborative Engineering aims at increasing engineering efficiency in the automotive industry across different companies and countries. It aims to change the way people work so that new potential is created which can levered by automotive companies. This contribution outlines the need for Collaborative Engineering within the automotive industry as well as the associated risks. It also outlines the changes required to align the current situation and the general requirements for Collaborative Engineering.
