The nature of outwearing the pipeline channels by slurries was analyzed. The influence of an overpressure on outwearing process was taken into consideration. The process is accelerated by formation of ductile layers on the interior wall surface of the loaded tube. A similar process happens on the preform surfaces during their pressure treatment. The effect of wear rates on ductile and brittle materials was determined and used for predicting the life time of the pipelines under operation conditions according the theory of plastic deformation.
