Automotive drive train parts can be made of die cast magnesium by selecting the right combination of alloy and processing method. Successful alloys must provide required mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, and die castability. Creep-resistant alloys within the Mg-Al-RE system and alloys from the AE family are proved to provide such properties.
