Six steels were taken into consideration as materials resistant to bullets. Structural characteristics of the 46 steel thermally and/or mechanically pretreated were analyzed. The highest resistance to 7H6 bullets showed the 46 steel after its forging, rolling, hardening at the pearlite transformation temperature and tempering at low temperature (up to bullet velocity 896 m/s).
