There are a lot of possibilities for various loading systems in the feed industry. The most traditional is the direct loading of the trucks out of the silos. The investment here is low. For the O.I.M.L.-weighing (O.I.M.L., (Organisation Internationale de Metrologie Legale) of the several parties a weigh bridge is needed. A more flexible system is the loading by means of a movable conveyor (belt conveyor, chain conveyor, segment-conveyor or screw conveyor). The bulk truck stays on a fixed position and the movable conveyor takes care that the various filling points of the bulk truck are getting loaded. Since the bulk truck can stand still the loading time in this case is shortened. By positioning a weigh bridge under the loading point, different product sorts can be O.I.M.L.-weighed very easily. By transporting to a central point, it is possible to place a duplex weigher, by which the loading time is shortened and the expensive weigh bridge is not needed any more. A duplex weigher can easily work up 200 tons of product per hour. Instead of a loading belt with duplex weigher, also a movable weigher bin can be used. By using a weighing bin the product contamination (restproduct in the transport system) can be minimised. To shorten the loading time further contrasets can be used. For this a copy of the compartments of the bulk trucks is installed in the loading street. These compartments are filled for instance by a movable weigher, at the moment when the bulk truck is not yet present. The bulk truck to be loaded is positioned under the bins and by means of one push button all compartments of the bulk truck are being loaded simultaneously. In this way it is possible that the bulk trucks can leave the site completely loaded within 5 min. By using flexible loading pipes it is possible to load bulk trucks with different distances between the openings. The positioning of the loading pipes can be realised in two different ways. From a platform the driver can position the different loading pipes above the openings of the bulk truck. This takes some time but it is possible to load the truck within 10 min. In addition to the optimisation of the loading it is sometimes required to add customer-specific processing. For this a mixer will be placed in the outloading station.
