As partner in Sonderforschungsbereich SFB 241 'New Integrated Mechanic-Electronic Solu-tions for Mechanical Engineering Systems' of Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (German Research Council) at Darms-tadt University of Technology the Automotive Engineering Department (fzd) is doing research in its three SFB-projects: Tire with an Integrated Sensor (A3), Adaptive Wheel Suspension (A7) and Electrically Actuated Wheel Brake (B6). The research targets, working principles, prototype performances and components' contributions to a smart interlinked so called mechatronic vehicle corner are described.
