In automobile body structure, the beams composed of spot-welding two thin-walled beams having open sections are mainly used as the member. The torsional rigidity of a spot-welded box section beam has been investigated and reported on the torsional rigidities of double and single hat beams, the warping of which is restrained at both ends perfectly, using warping torsion theory of spot-welded box section beam. In this paper, as a further analysis, on the following three cases is reported: 1) A case where the warping is restrained elastically at both ends. 2) A case where torsional moment varies longitudinally. 3) A case where pitch of spot-welds varies longitudinally. As a result, torsional rigidity of spot-welded beam, the warping of section and stress distribution are influenced. By introducing the transition region, the warping of section and stress distribution varies smoothly and the torsional rigidity of spot-welded beam that pitch of spot-welds varies longitudinally is calculated accurately.
