The Energy Information Administration projected a 2.2% annual increase in oil prodution through the year 2020. As such, continued improvements in exploration, drilling and production technologies provide the capability for continued oil prodution rate increases. On this basis, petroleum engineers and petroleum engineering students can count on ample job opportunities for the foreseeable future.
