In this paper a test bench which has been developed for the evaluation of drivetrain oscillations in electric vehicles is described. It is shown how the electrical and mechanical set-up is realized in order to guarantee testing capability of different drive systems from different suppliers. Furthermore, a method for the measurement of the half-shaft torque, which is of main interest for the investigation of drivetrain oscillations, is introduced. To simulate the dynamic wheel load on the test bench, consisting of the load torque and the large vehicle mass, an appropriate control strategy of the load machines is proposed. Finally, measurement results are presented to show the functionalism of the test bench to investigate the phenomenon of drivetrain oscillations in electric vehicles.
