Titanium and its alloys as structure pieces applied in aerospace and petrochemical industry have been used more and more widely in recent years. However, the application in high-temperature and high-pressure water/steam environment is very limited. This paper introduces a new type of alpha Ti alloy that is suitable for the conditions. It was developed by Northwest Institute for Nonferrous Metal Research (NIN). The nominal composition is Ti-4AI-2V. It has moderate tensile strength, good weldability, anti-corrosion performance, and fine property under low temperatures etc. It could be used in marine engineering, nuclear power industry etc in the future. The ingot of Ti-4Al-2V alloy possesses uniform component and low impurity. The mechanical properties are UTS = (710-782) MPa, EL = (15 - 21) % at RT and UTS = (450 - -554) MPa, EL = (11 - 16) % at 350 deg C. Ti-4AI-2V alloy has much better corrosion resistant properties compared with pure Ti in watLer/strearn solution under high temperature and high pressure for a long time.
